In an optimal world, these peaks should be climbed in conjunction with Twining and PT13,545... however it didn't workout that way for me when I climbed Twining in August of 2019.

From the Indy Lake TH, the hike on over Lost Man Pass to PT13,001's south ridge is gentle and scenic. PT13,001's south ridge has a surprising amount of quality 3/4 scrambling on solid granite if you stick to the ridge proper. Otherwise you can make this a 2+ hike if you stay on the climber's left side of the ridge.

When PT13,001 is under your belt the scrambling is pretty much over. The Geissler's and PT13,500 offer moderate hiking on relatively solid terrain. If you add Twining and PT13,545 to this itterary the scrambling factor goes way up!

There are a lot of different ways you can link up the 5 ranked 13ers in this zone... if I had it to do all over again I would take the following approach.

  1. Set a shuttle betweeen the Indy Pass TH and Indy Lake TH
  2. Route: Indy Pass TH > PT13500 > Twining > PT13545 > PT13001 > East Geissler > West Geissler > Linkins Lake > Indy Lake TH

If you can't set a shuttle, hike back to Indy Pass... just not on the road.
