In an ideal world, these peaks should be climbed in conjunction with PT13,500, PT13,001 and the Geisslers, however my partners were seduced by the idea of a french toast breakfast in Aspen and we bailed early.
A gentle... but steep... but not too steep hike from the TH to the summit. Then an awesome class 3 scramble to 13,545 followed by an easy hike on Lost Man Lake trail back to the car. The traverse between Twining and PT13,545 would be fun in either direction.
There are a lot of different ways you can link up the 5 ranked 13ers in this zone... if I had it to do all over again I would take the following approach.
- Set a shuttle betweeen the Indy Pass TH and Indy Lake TH
- Route: Indy Pass TH > PT13500 > Twining > PT13545 > PT13001 > East Geissler > West Geissler > Linkins Lake > Indy Lake TH
If you can't set a shuttle, hike back to Indy Pass... just not on the road.
Distance: 6.3 Miles - Elevation Gain: 2600
