Although the views are amazing, Gilpin on it's own is a little underwhelming in the summer. Consider combining it with the spicy T4 (read Block Top report before going) or Sneffels SW ridge.

Tacoma and Gilpin. The general route is to gain the ridge on on the right, contour along it's right side then take the pass of least resistance to the summit

A view to the west from the near top of the loose gully. Dallas on the left with the split summit. A silver T0 right of that. Gorgeous colors!

Can't get enough of this western view on descent
Another look west from the top of Gilpin's loose north gully. T4 front and center... Dallas and it's bunny ears in the distance

Gilpin's north gully isn't great but it's manageable
Sneffels SW ridge combines well with Gilpin. If you opt for that combo, consider taking the ridge to Sneffels... it is spicier than it looks
