A nice day on loose rock with amazing views
9.2m - 5150ft - 7.5hrs
I hiked a road pretty much all the way to Oscars east ridge. View of US Grant and South Lookout to the south
US Grant and V3(R)
South Lookout
Looking up to Oscars from the top of the road
Oscars east ridge
The day's work all laid out in front of me from Oscars summit
Looking back to T12 and Lookout Peak
Southerly views

The remaining ridge to Silver
Looking back you can see the road I ascended
Getting closer to Silver but still a ways to go
At the end of this ridge you will find the famous San Joaquin Couloir
On to Silver - I bypassed the larger head wall(front and center) by dropping down, crossing the snow and ascending a steep slope back to the ridge
Looking back
Just a little further before bypassing the headwall
Looking back
Northerly views
Down and around the headwall
Then up this steep slope back to the ridge
Southerly views and the town of Ophir below
The last bump before Silver
The awesome ridge between Silver and Palmyra Peak
The final push to Silver's summit
The Wilsons to the west
Might have to come back and traverse the ridge between Silver and Palmyra
Silver Summit Selfie with the Wilsons behind
August 19th 2018 Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison traversed from Palmyra. If that isn't a piece of local mountain history I don't know what is
Time for a loose descent to Ophir
Looking back to Silver and my descent route
Through the forest
South Lookout and Magnum Couloir (which we skied just a few months earlier)
Not a bad spot for a memorial
