I didn't know what I was getting into when I set out to climb PT13027. I decided to roll the dice and head up Roell Creek to Hidden Lake and climb the west face.
It wasn't long after leaving the Vallecito Trail that I realized I was in for an adventure. The out and back bushwhack up Roell Creek is one of the more challenging I have experienced. The bush was thick, the terrain steep (sometimes exposed), somewhat physical and slow moving.
There were some fun slabs below Hidden Lake and the west face was kinda cool... but I can't say I would go back and I definitely don't recommend this route.... hahahaha... sometime you just gotta be the beta. You're welcome

After what was probably the toughest bushwhack I have ever done the terrain opened up but the terrain was still slow and challenging

Things got better when I reached this pond. The slabby scrambling on the left was fun

Hidden Lake, surrounded and protected, was incredibly still

The grass and slabs were fun... but the awful bushwhack back to the trail awaited

One last view of Jagged before starting the bushwhack
