Our hike started from the parking area on the south side of Fremont Pass. There wasn't much signage and I didn't see a trailhead sign. From the parking area we hiked up through the trees (avoiding patches of willows) until we reached a huge alpine meadow (about a mile in). This is where the beginning of Arkansas's north ridge came into view. We gained the ridge at it's lowest point and followed it to the summit. There was plenty of fun class 3 scrambling along the way. Our round trip was 5.2 miles and 2860 vertical.
