A truely epic day on four classic ski lines in four Gore Range Basins.
In the wee hours of the morning we set a shuttle at the Pitkin trailhead and skinned up Booth Creek.
We climbed West Partner's west ridge, skied into Lower Slate Basin. After traversing Lower Slate we booted Peak R's south couloir then skied the north couloir into Upper Slate near South America Lake.
From South America Lake we skinned to just below the Peak Q-R saddle and booted Peak Q's east face to the top of it's north couloir.
For time reason's, we not did not do the short techy scramble to Peak Q's summit. We were there to ski.
While all of the day's ski lines were rad, Peak Q's north was my favorite. Peak R's north a close second.
From the bottom of Peak Q we recycled our skin track to the Q-R saddle and made our way across Lower Slate to Might Pass at the base of West Partner's south ridge.
The ski from Might Pass down West Partner's south face to Pitkin Lake was steep and a little scary. Breakable crust is no bueno... Especailly at the end of the day.
From Pitkin Lake we picked up some tracks and skied to the trailhead admiring ski lines of the future and past.
What. A. Day. !!!!
