Other than the steep start through the woods this is a gentle loop with great views. Kinda fun to be hiking in a ski resort. No pass required! Didn't feel much like a Gore Range peak.
8.5m - 3760ft - 4hrs 20min
This loop starts with steep hiking through the woods to Copper Mountain
As you hike up through the woods you will cross a few old roads & paths. Keep going up
Steep grass meadows above treeline take you to the summit of Copper Mountain
A nice of view Jacque from Copper Mtn
The new Three Bears lift on Tucker
The Tenmile Range is stunning on this hike. Pacific front and center
Jacque Peak from Union Mountain
Getting closer
More Tenmile Views
Looking north to the Gore Range
Looking north to the Gore Range
Looking north to the Gore Range
Looking west to Holy Cross and the Sawatch
Still more Tenmile views from the Jacques summit
The Climax mining operation
Follow the yellow brick road to Tucker Mountain
Looking back to Jacque from Tucker
Looking across Copper Bowl to Union (where the ski lifts are). Grays and Torreys way off in the distance.
On the way down from Tucker don't get sucked into the willows. There is no need to bushwhack here. Shoot for the road at the base of the ski lift
Looking up the new Three Bears Lift. From here I found a faint trail & trail segments that took me back to Graveline
