We set out from the trailhead with an objective no other than to explore options. Should we ski Helen? Something on Father Dyer, south on Crystal, Hawaii?

We ended up skiing a line we had both wanted for years... but for one reason or another it just never worked out.

Crystal's north face has a number of lines that look fun. On this day the only line that was in was the most westerly, and it just happened to be blower powder.

Sometimes you just gotta let the mountains lead the way and see where they take you.
