The Holy Cross Wilderness feels more dramatic than the rest of the Sawatch... almost like it's a range of it's own.
Savage Peak is a great spring objective as it has many high quality ski options including the Savage Couloir and multiple lines on the North Face. Not to mention it is drop dead gorgeous.
This was my first outting with Joel and Sam and the trip went off without a hitch. This was Joel's 8th trip to Savage so we followed his lead and skied the middle line on the North Face which did not disappoint. We had a still bluebird day that delivered savage corn snow. The group chemistry was awesome... thanks for the high stoke day boyz... it was great to get out with you!
I definitely hope to return to Savage to ski the coulie and other lines.
