Chipeta Mountain from Marshall Pass was a good quick hit on a day with storms early in the forecast. It is a gentle hike with great early morning views.
If I were to climb Chipeta a second time, I would entertain the idea of riding the approach on the Colorado Trail from Monarch Pass. After summitting, riding down the Rainbow Trail back to Poncha Springs would be a great way to wrap up the day.
