The first few miles from Elk Park on the CT are cruiser. However just when you feel like you are making good time, the last couple of miles into Vestal Basin will let you know who is boss.

Spend less time hiking below treeline with a heavy pack... the train from Silverton to Elk Park is quick and fun!

The Animas at Elk Park
Arrow and Vestal come in to view after a few easy miles on the CT. However the last couple of miles from the beaver pond to camp is steep and has plenty of dead-fall to navigate.
