Although this outting took close to 3 hours, the easy access gives it a quick hit feel. A great half day from town. Consider hitting the Ouray Hot Springs and Pool afterwards... then maybe an ice cream cone!

Approach

The trail is as steep as they come and can be slick (even when dry) on descent. The alternate approach in the GPX file is more direct, requires some bushwacking, has some fun scrambling and takes a little longer than the trail.

Sister Peak

Climb an obvious crack/chimney on the west side of the summit. We did not use a rope for this short climb as the crack/chimney felt protected, safe and mostly solid - plenty of hands and feet. Leave your pack at the bottom as the chimney is tight.

Twin Peaks

The true summit of Twin Peaks is the south high point on climber's left. Summiting requires two pitches of exposed low 5 scrambling on relatively solid rock. The first pitch is to a tree where there is webbing and a quicklink. The second pitch is to the summit where there is cord and a quicklink. We used a 30m Rad Line and two rappels on descent.
