We felt lucky to be able to ski Potosi after the extended Camp Bird Road closure due to significant rockfall in February.
We started at the Weehawken TH and ascended a dry trail until a short faffing session in unsupportable snow below the upper basin.
The basin to the north of Potosi is absolutely gorgeous and is defined by Potosi, Teakettle, Mount Ridgway and Angels Knob. In the summer it is filled with wildflowers. Don't miss it.
Potosi's north coulior is a gem and the snow soft, deep and untouched upon arrival. The climb to the summit was enjoyable, the views were off the hook and the skiing was incredible.
At the top of the couloir (upon descent) I snapped a shot of Mitch getting first tracks. It wasn't until I reached the bottom of the line that I realized I had lost my phone in a unzipped pocket (don't tell my wife). I used my watch's 'find phone' feature and located the phone at the top of the line. Lucky was I to ski the couloir twice! Thanks for waiting fellas! I promise... I will most likely do this again.
