Fun and challenging terrain coupled with unparalleled views make this one of my all time favorite routes. If you like longer days don't miss this one. If you prefer shorter days consider combining El Punto and Heisshorn.

Precipice(L) and Dunsinane(R)
![Middle cimarron 06]()
Making our way to the first peak of the day PT13220B

A little bit of tedious rock to cross before the scrambling begins. L2R: Comcomb, Redcliff, Fortress, Precipice
![Middle cimarron 08]()
![Middle cimarron 09]()
Not everything was solid on this one... helmets recommended

![Middle cimarron 23]()
Next stop El Punto... the small town to the left of Wetterhorn
![Middle cimarron 24]()
El Punto(L) looking pretty damn cool!
![Middle cimarron 25]()
El Punto... Spanish... for The Punto
![Middle cimarron 26]()
We wrapped around until we found this gully
![Middle cimarron 27]()
David climbs The Punto (tough light)
![Middle cimarron 28]()
Alex just sort of the summit
![Middle cimarron 29]()
David 'Hunking' on the summit. El Punto is not difficult to climb... it is just exposed. The rock is fairly solid
![Middle cimarron 30]()
Back down the gully
![Middle cimarron 31]()
En route to Heisshorn... aka Spicehorn. El Punto behind
![Middle cimarron 32]()
Coxcomb
![Middle cimarron 33]()
Heisshorn on the right... looking like a big sharp shark's tooth

"I'm picking out a thermos for you. Not just an ordinary thermos for you."
![Middle cimarron 43]()
Coxcomb and Redcliff
![Middle cimarron 44]()
We opted to cut some mileage and descend a super nasty gully. I don't recommend it... but I would do it again :-0
![Middle cimarron 45]()
Looking back to our descent gully... gross
![Middle cimarron 46]()
Looking back to Heisshorn
![Middle cimarron 47]()
Heisshorn's gnarly south ridge. No thanks. Know anyone who as traversed it?

![Middle cimarron 55]()
