A 6+ mile approach to Lion Lake on a prestine trail makes for a longer day in a gorgeous zone. Views of Glacier Gorge peaks and the ever morphing appearance Alice make the trip more than worthwhile.

Chief's Head from Lion Lake #1. From here I found a somewhat stable route to Chief's Head's southeast ridge (past lake and to the right). Stay on larger blocky terrain and it won't be too bad.
