Approaching Pear's east ridge in the morning light
Sawatch sunrise views
Pear Lake and Magdalene Mountain
Approaching the first tower on Pear's ridge. The only terrain that approaches class 4 on Pear itself.
Pear's east ridge mostly goes at 2+ after the first tower
Looking to our day ahead. Huron top right
Some easy slab
The (dis) lichen was super slick from the previous night's rain. It significantly slowed our pace. Kristi went down 4 times over the day.
En-route to Pear. Emerald top left
The long ridge to Pear. The black lichen was the slickest
A view north back to our approach and Clohesy Lake
We were rewarded with a cool inversion over Taylor Reservoir
The day was just getting started. Views to PT13220(L) and PT13513(R). This section went at 2+ easy 3
Descending Pear
The fun and route findy traverse over PT13220 to PT13513 is longer than you might think
Yep... we still have a bit to go
Ice (R) and North Apostle (L)
The spicy PT13486 from PT13513. Huron top left
We knew the route to PT13486 went but didn't see how from this perspective
We climbed the steep and exposed east side of PT13486's south ridge.
There were a few sections of low 5
North Apostle (L) - West Apostle (R) from PT13486
The descent from PT13486 back to the trail wasn't too bad
