Treasury & Treasure
Date: 08/14/2022
Partner: Heather Ryan
Trailhead: Yule Pass
Summits: Treasury, Treasure
Distance: 11.5m
Elevation Gain: 4400ft
Duration: 8hrs
The views were great and this area is incredible... so we descided to add some unplanned adventure (and a few hours) to our day with a ridge run that ended up cliffing out. Nothing ventured nothing gained right?
If you plan on using this GPX file... you should descend Treasury about 300ft north of the summit to where we easily passed through the cliff band and into the basin below.
Our descent route from Treasure and back to the TH was GTG.
Thanks to The Chicken for big smiles no matter what happens.

Yule Creek TH... a pretty nice place to camp. However it is popular so get there early
Ragged morning views on Treasury's southwest slopes. There was some loose scree on this one.
Purple Mountain burns in the morning light
Approaching Treasury's summit
Fun little ridge to the summit. Treasure mountain glows top left
Our initial plan was to descend Treasury's southwest face about 300ft north of the summit
However we made a game time decision to run the ridge north to the next bump
Treasure Mountain
From the north most point on Treasury's ridge, we descended the steep west ridge with hopes of reaching the saddle
A wild cirque on the north side of Treasury
Run away run away... the ridge does NOT go! I am guessing we were within 500 feet of the saddle.
We ended up traversing a half mile south above the cliffs looking for weaknesses to down climb.
We descended our originally planned descent point
Below the ridge that didn't go

Looking back to Treasury, the ridge that didn't go and the cliff band we traversed

We dropped south at the first saddle then traversed some meadows until we found the Yule Pass Trail

Looking back to Purple Mountain and Yule Pass. A sweet waterfall across the way!
